The Imperfect

History is taught so that we don't repeat the mistakes committed by the greats of the past !!

"The Imperfect" by Prasoon is the story of an imperfect guy named Rishabh.

And why is he IMPERFECT?

Because he did everything in life that he shoudn't have done.

Rishabh instantly falls in love with Aarti when he saw her for the first time in 8th grade. (we may call it crush, but he believed it as love - so why not we stick to love !!). Soon they become thickest of friends, because for Aarti - he is nothing more but a best friend.

Fast forward to college, Aarti turns out to be Rishabh's senior (all credits to Rishabh's outstanding performance in 12th). She falls in love with her classmate Imran. This creates distance between our so called thickest friends - one because Rishu is in love with Aarti and two, Rishu loathes Immu (Rishu, Immu, that's how Aarti calls them).

Grades are misconceptions that form people's perceptions !!

Meanwhile Ruhana is Rishabh's classmate and is crushing over Rishabh, which he also seems to notice. He has his own track with Ruhana. Now, after some events related to "Ruhana being smitten by Rishabh" thing, he is all set to marry.

Marry who??

It's Priyanka ! An arranged match and a match which Rishabh is greatful for. But being grateful haven't convinced him enough to forget Aarti - his first and only love. So Aarti becomes the indirect reason to break the perfect match, just a night before the wedding.

And she also becomes the direct reason for Rishabh marrying Shefali, another arranged match, which Rishabh is again greatful for. But, Can Rishabh forget Aarti and not break the marriage as once he did??

He had a love story to move on from....

He had a secret story to hide....

Will he ever come out of the mess that he created?? Will his imperfect story has the perfect ending??

Remoarse is like quicksand. The harder you try to redeem yourself, the greater you get pulled into the trench of psychological warfare !!

P.S : Though we have many characters in the book, there is never a case where we get confused between any two. The characterization is too good and very much in detail.

Happy Reading !!
